As the President of Fresh Coat, Tara brings over 30 years of executive management and operations experience in franchising, most recently serving as a Vice President in the Comfort Keeper’s senior care brand. Tara also has experience working within global franchise icons such as McDonald’s, as well as in much younger high-growth brands, leading teams in a variety of business models including home improvement and remodeling. This, along with her first-hand experience as a business owner, helps Tara understand the unique challenges and fears new business owners face and has resulted in a passion for helping franchisees push through to success. Today, Tara leverages her background to help lead Fresh Coat on a continued path of growth as it aims to become the largest painting brand in the world.
The Origins of Fresh Coat Painters
The original idea behind Fresh Coat Painters arose when one of the co-founders struggled to find someone reliable to paint his 16-year-old daughter’s bedroom. None of the contracted painters were willing to do projects that small, and it was clear there was a business idea there. After opening the first location in Cincinnati and vetting the business model, the brand officially started franchising in 2005.
