Riley Cox is a general contractor with experience across the trades – and time as a Fresh Coat Painters team member under his belt. When Cox was ready to give up his two-hour commute and build something for his family and his community, he knew it was time to open his own Fresh Coat Painters franchise.
Fresh Coat Painters of Lodi offers painting services including interior and exterior painting, sealing and staining; popcorn ceiling and wallpaper removal; faux painting; agricultural painting; drywall repair and more in Lodi, Stockton, Acampo, Woodbridge, Galt and the surrounding areas.

Cox has a long history in the trades, including painting, plumbing, electrical and Paint contracting. He earned his C-33 painting and decorating contracting license in 2010 and, two years later, went to work for another Fresh Coat Painters franchise nearby. For the last couple of years he has worked for a regional contracting company, but the commute was costing him at least four hours a day – hours he wanted to be spending with his wife and four children.
“I had a good job, but it was pulling me away from my family and it didn’t give me the opportunity to grow. I’m looking forward to building a legacy for my family, creating jobs in this community and raising the bar in the painting industry,” Cox said.
