What does it take to leave a steady corporate career and bet on yourself? For Chandler Register, it started with a conversation with a customer.
A former Sherwin-Williams store manager in one of Atlanta's top-performing markets, Register was no stranger to hard work — or to the constraints that come with corporate life. When a regular customer mentioned he was looking to exit his Fresh Coat Painters franchise, Register saw an opening. Armed with deep product knowledge, management experience, and a desire for more autonomy, he took the leap.
Today, Register owns Fresh Coat Painters of Alpharetta and Cumming, has grown revenue year-over-year since day one, and is setting his sights on $1.5–$2 million in annual revenue. He's also building a team — and finding that his background makes the whole operation run smoother than most.
His advice to anyone on the fence? "Take the calculated risk."
